1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon chicken-stock powder
1 cup grated light/ reduced fat cheese
1/3 cup self-raising flour
Salt and pepper to taste
Extra self-raising flour for coating
Vegetable oil, for shallow-frying
Fresh dill and lime wedges to serve
2. Place fish in a large mixing bowl and mash with a fork. Add onion, egg, stock powder, light cheese, flour and salt & pepper. Mix well. Divide mixture into 10- 12 portions coat in flour.
3. Heat oil in a large pan. Add patties; flatten slightly, shallow-fry until lightly browned on both sides and heated through.

1 1/2 cups quick oats
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
garlic and onion powder, to taste (if desired)
pinch freshly ground black pepper
2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
salt, to taste
2. Place the chickpea puree in a mixing bowl and add the remaining ingredients except the oil. Mix well, adding additional water or oats as necessary to make a mixture that keeps its shape. Shape into 8 patties.
3. In a pan, heat oil and lightly fry patties until golden brown on each side, for a total of 20 minutes or so.
